Sorry for the late post guys, but this is my part 2 on styling an oversized jumper. This time I’ve chosen to style it with my favourite pair of straight leg jeans for a more casual laid-back vibe. Because the straight leg jeans, oversized jumper and oversized leather jacket doesn’t really lend much to a feminine figure, I’ve teamed this look with a dainty Chanel WOC to add that luxe girly-ness to the look.
This is such an easy and go-to outfit because not only is it warm, it’s also so comfortable. I’ve easily worn this look more than a handful of times because it’s one of my favourite silhouettes to style.
Welcome back to the 2nd week of my staple styling series!
Today, I have to share with you guys my love for the straight leg jeans!
So you may have already witnessed by absolute adoration for these particular pair of straight leg jeans from Topshop, but if you didn’t, here it is: I absolutely bloody love them!!
They have been one of my favourite pairs to style during autumn winter, and even coming into spring I’m still reaching for them! Like any pair of jeans they are versatile and so easy to style, but this new straight-leg silhouette is such a retro twist and I definitely think this is one jean shape that will remain trendy for a while. Now I know there are several straight leg jeans available from different retailers, but my favourite is definitely this one from Topshop. It offers the best combination of fit and elasticity, and additionally, although I bought them from the “regular” line instead of “petite”, it still fits my petite frame so well! (IMO, but obviously tell me if you think otherwise!)
In this outfit I’ve styled it with a very simple black T-shirt and finished the look of with a varsity style bomber jacket from Cotton on. The Mickey Mouse print on the Jacket makes the look playful and fun, whilst the black mules gives this casual-sporty look an updated girly feel. I felt like the Chanel WOC was the perfect addition to this because it gave it just that bit of luxe to a an otherwise casual outfit.
So I never thought I would be a fan of straight leg jeans… But the obsession is real guys! This actually isn’t my favourite pair, but it’s still amazing nonetheless. Probably the closest I could get to the vintage Levis 501, and so hard to believe they were from ASOS! I’ve folded the hem to make them more suitable for my petite frame, but I actually also really like the effect. I’m thinking about fraying the hem, but then decided against it because the fold-up hem has also been trending lately! They’re an authentic vintage style in that they have a light acid wash to them, and made of that thick stiff denim. If I hadn’t bought it myself, I woulds struggle to believe that they’re truly not vintage! But in saying that, they aren’t as comfortable as the topshop straight-leg jeans I hauled in my previous youtube video, but if you’re looking for a pair thats easily accessible, check them out on ASOS!
This is one of my favourite shoots so far, and I just loveeee how these denim culottes from Mango look! I have only recently discovered the MANGO online website… and holy, I went a little cray. The reason I went on the website was because I was looking for the Chloe tie mule dupes that everyone on instagram have been going crazy for.. and then I discovered their denim. In particular these cute pair of denim culottes. And how amazing are they?? If you’re petite like myself, you can understand how frustrating it can often be to style culottes, so to have been able to find this on sale, not to mention in the exact size I need…. YES PLEASE!
For anyone interested in also getting a pair, look out for culottes with a straight slim leg. I know, “slim leg” is a bit of an oxymoron for culottes, but what I mean is that you often see the wide leg pants that get so wide it almost looks like a skirt. No. While 6 feet models can pull that off, if I did that I would literally look like a smurf. lol. Ofcourse it also doesn’t hurt to wear a gorgeous pair of stiletto mules (can you tell I’m in love with these wittner ones?).
