The Flared jeans has returned, and it’s strong. Although most people associate Flares with 70’s vibe, for me I can finally re-live my teenage years in better style! haha. I remember wearing flared jeans/bell bottoms to death almost 10 years ago. Of course back then I wasn’t gun-hoe on heels so I always wore them with the biggest pair of skater converse you could buy.

I love that the trend has finally returned, and I purchased this pair from Asos. If you follow me on Youtube you would have seen me haul them a few months ago, but I think it’s the perfect mid-washed blue colour, with just the right amount of distressing. I cant wait to show you guys more ways to style this, in particular I think it would look amazing with a black berret/newsboy cap to really play on the 70’s flared vibe.

Honestly guys, I never know what to write in my blog posts sometimes. I’m such a visual person, and I’ve always been the type to just look at pictures in magazines and skip the writing. Occasionally, I feel like when I “blog” on my posts, they’re always just fillers. But that’s not what I really want to do today. Although pictures are served to attract the viewer, when it comes down to the nitty gritty, it’s the words and the writing allows you to really get to know the person. If someone takes the 5 minutes out of their day to read the writing on a blog post, then honestly I’m both impressed and honoured!

I remember this day because it was mothers day. Yes I know, it means the photo is a bit “late” but I think my posts will just tend to be 1 month late as I want to be shooting 1 month ahead… does that make sense? Maybe not.

I guess reflecting on this day it was the first day that my mum and sister had moved to Adelaide. To fill you in if you’re curious – I am the eldest of 5 kids, and up until now I had moved to Adelaide to be with my 3 brothers who are currently studying, and shoulder the costs of basically their board and lodging.  However after being accepted into the QLD GP training program, I’ll be moving interstate and my family took this as an opportunity to be together again in one state as a family. Which meant mum & sis finally moving to Adelaide.

Anyways, long story short, it was the first mother’s day we had spent together as a family in many many years, and it was good. We took her out to Argo on the Parade which luckily at the time we went wasnt too busy, and it was just genuinely nice to be out as a family.

So I guess to make this post slightly relevant to the outfit, can you tell that I’m obsessed with the this rich emerald green colour? I love that my earrings, my top and even my pouf key ring from sportsgirl all match! haha. Anyways in this outfit I’ve teamed up my paperbag chinos from dotti that I normally wear for work with something more fun and flirty like this flare sleeve top from Zara. I know its not the most autumn/winter appropriate top, but throw a coat over it and you can make ANYTHING winter appropriate. Am I right? I love the colour palette of this look, I just find they blend so harmoniously and effortlessly.

SUMMER VIBES. Fresh post, right off the press.

So, I’ve gone ahead and neglected my blog despite me telling everyone that I love photography and blogging. -sigh-
Unfortunately my laptop has been on the mend, which has my photo editing software, thereby inhibiting me from being able to blog. Or so I’d like to think. But in all honestly, I hate editing photos. I admit the finished products look amazing when edited, but ughhh give me a easy way of editing such as VSCOCAM on my phone please!

If anyone knows of a program similar to VSCOCAM for windows/mac please let me know… my life would be so much easier!

Anyways, here are some photos I have taken TODAY, and edited TODAY, and uploaded TODAY.
Yes, no stale outfits from 2 – 3 months ago, this is fressssssh off the press baby!

If you guys arent aware, I’ve gone back into making youtube videos. And I’ve enjoyed it immensely. But gosh, to work, youtube AND blog… is it going to be too much?
Luckily I’ve deferred the Diploma I was supposed to complete this year for next year, so atleast for the rest of the year I can focus on my extracurricular activities. LOL.

Meanwhile, it’s been hot in Adelaide. HOT HOT HOT. And today as absolutely disgusting. I wore this little number just out to the park, and later on to IKEA. (God I love that place!) The hat was utilised purely for distraction as my hair was absolutely foul. Regardless, hope you enjoy!

Long Cardigan – Open Closet
Vest – ASOS
Top – T-shirt Bar
Boyfriend Jeans – Target
Shoes – Newlook (via ASOS)
Bag – LV Speedy B 30 Mono

This is an outfit I wore a few weeks ago, when the weather was cooling down. This outfit was so comfortable, I was able to have the long cardigan coat which kept me warm outside, and the vest keeps me just warm enough indoors. Layering is easily my favourite kind of style, but sometimes it can be tedious when trying to stop the overbulking.
As a general rule, when in doubt start with the basics like a simple t-shirt and jeans. Then usually go for a vest or small jacket, and on top of that a coat. Try mix different textures and thickness of the material to prevent over bulking. It’s also not a bad idea to have a belt handing for cinching if the style loses shape.

Layering should be fun, and it’s definately something I enjoy. Dont be afraid to mix different prints, different shades, different textures.

Anyways, 2 more days until officially back at word and I’m certainly not looking forward to it. I hate that post-holiday slum prior to going back to work. It’s the absolute worst… 🙁
