Sorry for the late post guys, but this is my part 2 on styling an oversized jumper. This time I’ve chosen to style it with my favourite pair of straight leg jeans for a more casual laid-back vibe. Because the straight leg jeans, oversized jumper and oversized leather jacket doesn’t really lend much to a feminine figure, I’ve teamed this look with a dainty Chanel WOC to add that luxe girly-ness to the look.
This is such an easy and go-to outfit because not only is it warm, it’s also so comfortable. I’ve easily worn this look more than a handful of times because it’s one of my favourite silhouettes to style.

So the duffle coat has been a new discovery this autumn/winter, but honestly I cant believe it took me this long! It is definitely a classic coat silhouette, and if you dont have one yet in your collection for this autumn/winter… GET IT! It’s such an easy carefree piece of outerwear, and it will go such a long way!
This was 1001% inspired by the korean drama shows I was watching several months ago. I saw how it was style it a skirt/dress and I was in love! I have seen it in black/navy/red, but decided that grey would be a great neutral colour. I did get a size larger for an oversized fit, because it just looks better when it’s slightly larger especially when worn with dresses/skirts.This particular piece was from Myers, but they are so readily available anywhere so definitely check it out!
It might not be the most striking jacket/coat, but it was truthfully the one I reached for the most this autumn/winter because not only was it warm, it was so cozy and comfy. And absolute staple in anybody’s autumn/winter wardrobe!

As I write this, we are finally come to the tail end of the treacherous storm that has troubled South Australia over the past few days. Just 3 days ago SA underwent a state black out causing choas and panic throughout the state. I was actually working in the hospital when the power outage occurred. Just an hour before the outage, it was decided by the Women’s and Children’s division that all outpatient clinics and all elective lists be cancelled that day and the day after. We were also advised to discharge anyone who was well enough to go home in event that the storm would become any more severe. Hearing this the whole ward turned into a frenzy. Whilst everyone became busy with transfers, discharges and afternoon reviews, everything shut down. The whole of the hospital went black for 3 minutes, but it felt so long that we all started to worry that the emergency generators were not going to kick in. Of course they did, but after there was an apocalyptic vibe in the air.
It wasnt long before I was able to go, and I was so frightened after being told that none of the traffic lights were working! This seemed ludicrous, and I couldnt imagine how the roads would cope. Even as I drove home with strong winds and heavy rain, it was scary not knowing what kind of crazy loon would come speeding down each intersection. It was the single most daunting drive I had ever driven. I was paranoid in every corner, and easily drove 10km below the limit. Even with my cautiousness, there was almost a near crash incident where as I was slowly crossing with 2 other cars in an intersection, an idiot decided he had enough time to cross and rushed passed us. I honestly almost had a heart attack. Not to mention because speeding lights were not working, so many were speeding 80km on a 60km road!
I luckily returned home safely, abeit to a poweless house. Fortunately for us, it was only for a few hours that we were without power, but I pray for everyone out there who are still without power 3 days later. There are also dangerous flooding in areas and I just want to wish everyone their safety. Thankfully the storm as eased, and I hope over the next few days the floods will start to recede.
Needless to say, due to the past few days I’ve been too busy to edit a video so unfortunately I will not be able to have a video for you guys this week. I hope you guys will understand, and I hope to be able to edit one for next week! I did promise however to stick to a blog schedule, so let me tell you a little bit about this look. It’s another styling idea for my favourite straight leg jeans but with a few more layers and looking much more winterish. I love the look of nicely fitted boots and these ones in particular are from missguided. I did purchase them in the grey, thought they would equally look amazing in black! On top I’m wearing a polkadot bow dress that I’ve worn as a top, and added some interest to the look by pairing it with a fluffy cardigan/jacket from H&M.
All I can say is I feel very British-blogger in this look! And I love it! What do you guys think?

Whilst all of use here in the southern hemisphere are approaching Spring & Summer, I know that a lot of you guys in North America/UK/Europe are actually going into Autumn/Winter (lucky ducks!). Now I don’t want that when you guys read my blog that you feel completely disconnected from the photos, so I’ve actually accumulated several of my A/W2016 looks to publish in the next few weeks.
Initially I just wanted to incorporate them into my blog on a weekly basis, but to make things interesting I thought I would publish it in bi-weekly Inspo every fortnightly… confused? Me too. Basically this week I’ll be uploading two looks on how to style a Autumn/Winter staple – such as this faux leather Jacket! Then next week, I will post a spring look/handbag review/beauty review/etc. Does that make sense?
Now I know it’s a bit all over the place, but hopefully you guys will get the gist. Also I’m going to try and make my posts more scheduled, with posts every Tues & Fridays (+ Sun if I’m feeling extra productive)
So lets talk more about “the leather jacket”
If you guys have seen my birthday wishlist, I’m lusting after the All Saints Balfern Jacket so bad. And in actual fact, I did actually purchase it for myself but ordered the wrong style. Now that jacket costs a pretty penny, but the fit was amazing. If you guys know how much I ended up buying for my birthday, you can understand why I’ve held of re-ordering it, but it’s definitely still up there on my wishlist. A leather jacket (whether real leather or faux leather) is an absolute must in any wardrobe, and there’s nothing that screams AW like a leather jacket! So if you haven’t bought one yet, what are you doing! Get one!
So let’s talk a little bit about this outfit. This is typically a “grab & go” look for me. That is skinny jeans, flats, sweatshirt & leather jacket. Go with a neutral colour palette, add your favourite bag, and you’re out the door. It’s not meant to be fussy, nor is it mean to be super chic. It’s just a casual, easy outfit that anyone can pull off time and time again! Of course it wouldnt be “me” if I didnt have my coloured poufs to go with it which just adds the perfect amount of fun to the look!
