City Camo

As I’ve mentioned time and time again, I’ll miss Adelaide’s picturesque city sidewalks. This month has been so busy, and I apologise for that! If you watched my recent Q&A, you may know that I’ve been busy prepping for an exam. Thankfully that’s all done, but now moving onto the next job – and that’s moving out.

I’ll be moving to Brisbane start of next month, so it’s going to be another busy month unfortunately. I also want to start my blog sale soon, so stay tuned for that. If I’m organised enough, I hope to have it up by tommorow/day after. So stay tuned everyone!

Meanwhile, here are some photos from when the weather was a little cooler, featuring one of my favourite bags – the ever so cute Alma BB in Damier ebene. Isn’t she the cutest! I tend to wear her more during spring/summer for some reason, and I love how she looks with neutral tones.

My blog posts are all over the place lately, and I’m so sorry about that. I’m trying to stick to my schedule of posting every Monday + Friday, but thats clearly gone out the window. Partly to blame is the fact that I’m currently trying to study for an upcoming exam, and whilst I have a few days of study leave I’m trying to cram up to 10 lectures a day… not really possible.

So I have been meaning to post this look for weekssss now,  and yes, thats exactly how far advanced I am with photos, and if you follow me on instagram you would have already seen sneak previews of this look.

I love how this look/shoot turned out, and I honestly had to painstakingly go through literally hundreds of photos! I’ve tried to narrow it as much as  I can, but forgive me if it’s still an overwhelming amount of photos of me! ahaha.

In this look I’m wearing one of my favourite layering pieces of all time – my shaggy/teddy/rug cream gillet or vest. I purchased this little number from H&M many moons ago, and I love layering it over pants, over skirts, dresses – and I ever layer it over a cardigan to turn it into a coat! In this outfit I’ve chosen to my (one of my many) pair of culottes from topshop, and to keep things simple have just worn a plain white shirt underneath. My reflective sunglasses from cotton on give this outfit a nice pop of interest and complements the gold accent from my LV bag nicely. Of course since everything was pretty neutral, I chose an LV monogram print bag as it would pop really nicely!

And on that note, I thought I would include a little review here about the Pochette Metis as some of my viewers were curious as to why I did not include it as part of my recommended 1st designer handbag.

The Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis

So I dont want to ramble on too much about this bag – if you want a separate review video on wear & tear and thoughts let me know – but as I’ve said some people where curious why I did not feature this on my recent video. The reason being folks is when I think about my first designer handbag (or atleast in my case), I think about a forever bag – in style, in function, in durability and in price point. I want it to be a all-rounder. Now I did not chose to include the Pochette Metis mainly because of all of the problems associated with this bag in the early stages, and also the trendy nature of the bag. I don’t see it as a classic piece just yet, and there have been enough problems brought up about this bag that I refrain from recommending it as a first designer bag. That isn’t to say that every PM has inherent construction problems, because if you look after your bag well, it shouldn’t! But if I had this bag as my first item and I ran into glazing problems or cracking problems right off the bat – I would just not be happy at all!

Now that isn’t to say I wouldn’t recommend this bag at all – because I do! Its a beautiful bag that offers a lot of functionality and versatility, and it’s easily one of my favourite bags from Louis Vuitton. But for reasons I mentioned above, I refrained from recommending it as a first designer piece – and I stress on the word first – because to me, that first bag shoulde the be-all and end-all… and I just don’t feel like this bag is quite there!

NEW IN: Celine Mini Belt Bag

celine_belt_red_coat_city-20

I’ve done it again guys. Say hello to my new-to-me Celine belt bag!

So this bag needs no introduction, but if you havent seen my youtube video yet, this gorgeous Celine Belt Bag is the latest addition to my handbag family!

Now I did already go into significant dept about this bag when I unboxed it on my youtube channel, but I cant tell you how excited I am to have this in my grubby little hands. I’ve honestly been obssessing about it for a few months now, and had initially contemplated between the Balenciaga and a black version of this. Luckily I decided on the Balenciaga because I was able to find this dune colour later down the line!

As I said in my video, I had first seen this last year when I was lusting very heavily for the Celine Trapeze. It had almost got to the point where I was going to purchase a brand new Celine Trapeze at David Jones in a tricolor (cobalt blue, white & black). I decided to pass in the end, but that was the first time I also saw the Celine Belt bagI thought it looked okay but didnt even give it a second glance. Until I discovered Lizzy Hadfield and her gorgeous blog, and of course her minimalist style.

I kept seeing the Celine belt bag and boy, it grew on me very quickly and I was obsessed! Ever since I’ve been stalking that bag on online consignment stores because I do find that Celine unfortunately do not re-sell as well as other brands I’m usually a frequent buyer of.

I just love the lines, the structure, and shape and silhouette of this bag! I think its a great shoulder bag, and pairs so well with so many outfits! I’m stoked to have a lighter beige bag like this in my collection, because it’s actually not something I have a lot of.

First Impression?

So believe it or not, I’ve actually had this bag for a few weeks now, and I have useeeeed this bag! I took it with me to Sydney and it was great! It was the perfect companion for a weekend getaway in the city. I felt so city-chic because this is honestly the vibes the bag gives. The sleek minimalist style makes it look so premium and high fashion. I absolutely love it! I’m also so so so glad I got it in the drummed leather because to me it look so much more premium and expensive than the grained skin. The only drawback with wearing this bag was actually the shoulder strap – I tend to carry a lot of things with me, and when I’ve got a DSRL + 2 lenses + water bottle + makeup bag — the bag ends up weighing tonne! During these times I did worry sometimes when I wore it with the shoulder strap only that it would snap off and break! Luckily it didn’t… but it did play on my mind a lot!

Now I’m sure you’re curious about the closure? it wasn’t that bad! Honestly, I knew about the closure coming into this purchase so I was prepared, but all I did was lift a leg up to help it close and it was fine! Definitely not as bad as I thought anyways!

So what do you guys think of my new handbag purchase?

The Blogger Uniform

lv_speedy30_city-72 lv_speedy30_city-duo3

White shirt. Blue Jeans. Coffee in one hand, phone in the other. The culmination of which paints the picture of the quintessential blogger. I love this outfit and this shoot because it was so funny to take photos of myself looking like a successful blogger (of which we know is so far from the truth at this current moment). Regardless, the white shirt and jeans combo is any blogger/fashionista’s wardrobe staple. Not only is it comfy and effortless, but it can take you anywhere. Dress it up with heels and statement earrings, or dress it down with runners and no make up. You can also add a statement coat/accessory/outerwear and it feels like a whole different outfit. So any surprise that this combination screams blogger-uniform? It is the age-old favourite combination, and this is my online dedication to one of the best pairings in fashion history.

Before I go, lets just also take a minute to appreciate the beautiful backdrops that little Adelaide has to offer. I love strolling through the city and always finding new places to shoot and architecture to appreciate.

Soft Spring Tones

ysltassel_pinkcrates-36

Luckily for us, Spring in Adelaide has been a lovely, with some cool mornings and sunny afternoons. Which means, I can still wear some of my lighter spring jackets! This short trench you guys have seen me feature on my blog before, but it’s become one of my favourite layering pieces this spring. It’s easy, its light, and the shorter length means it’s a great for my petite frame. This is truly my favourite length for a coat.

In this outfit I chose to complement two soft blush tones together, and having the different textures and lengths make the two pieces perfect pairs for layering. I love how the wooly sweater juxtapositions the sheerness of the T-shirt beneath, but the similar tones make them blend effortlessly. I think that everything in this look complements each other, even down to the shoes and the pompom colours on my bag. I really like this look, and during days when I’m not 100% sure on what to wear, I pull this little number out and just change the accessories I pair with it!

If you’re ever stuck for layering pieces because you’re worried about clashing prints, or colours, or textures – you can always start with soft colours or pieces from a similar colour family. It makes the whole look more put together, and in my opinion tasteful!
