Sorry for the late post guys, but this is my part 2 on styling an oversized jumper. This time I’ve chosen to style it with my favourite pair of straight leg jeans for a more casual laid-back vibe. Because the straight leg jeans, oversized jumper and oversized leather jacket doesn’t really lend much to a feminine figure, I’ve teamed this look with a dainty Chanel WOC to add that luxe girly-ness to the look.
This is such an easy and go-to outfit because not only is it warm, it’s also so comfortable. I’ve easily worn this look more than a handful of times because it’s one of my favourite silhouettes to style.

It’s been a busy few weeks.
And I have to apologise to my youtube subscribers out there for not being able to upload any videos lately. Not only am I rostered for a lot of shifts this month, I also have a friend’s wedding, job applications and as expected, an upcoming exam which I haven’t quite prepared for. Now I don’t want to fall off the the face of the online world again like I normally do when real life gets too real, so at the very least I’m trying to stay on schedule with my blog. And honestly, even this is proving to be quite testing.
I suppose my point is, I’m trying my best, so please bear with me.
Now despite my depressing intro, this is actually one of my favourite looks that we have shot. Partly because I’m wearing my HG bag, but because of the most amazing warehouse that we found completely by random. How good is the lighting! Honestly it’s the perfect place for a photoshoot. Its so open, its bright and the rustic walls give it such a cool look!
Now the outfit itself is simple, and I love the casual effortless vibe. It was still quite chilly the time we shot this so I’ve paired the look with a wool coatigan, but i think a black light blazer will make it more than appropriate for the hotter seasons. I’ve also worn with the looks my Vintage Chanel classic flap. I’ve been itching to style this bag more lately, because I love the way such an elegant piece can be paired down with casual style. Also I want to get into the habit of using it more, and not being afraid of wearing it. Because it’s vintage and made of lambskin, I do feel like it’s a little bit more delicate and I do find myself babying this bag slightly, which is the last thing I want to do. While I want to keep it looking as pretty as long as I can, I just want to use the bag, and let it age with me. Thats what will make this bag special.

Congratulations Mr. Engineer!
Two days ago we were lucky enough to be able to celebrate my dearest brother Joseph’s Graduation ceremony. It was only 3 years ago that I was able to graduate myself with the most amazing feeling of accomplishment, and I couldn’t be happier for my brother to be able to experience that same feeling.
During the ceremony there was a very inspiring speaker who reminded us that although knowledge informs us, education transforms us. The process of going to university will always be a period in our lives that will changes us, and shape us into the person that we are. The people we meet, the lessons we learn, the mistakes we make – they are all a part of us. Although sometimes the world can be so bleak and dark with exams and self doubt looming above us, but I look back now at this time with fondness. You will never have that experience again. You will never be that same person again. So if you’re in University now, enjoy it! Love it, live it, savour ever moment of it. Because after University, the world is just a little bit different.
Another point he made that really struck me was, its ok to still not know what you want to be when you grow up. And this came from a speaker who was so well accomplished, so well travelled, and honestly I felt like he had already succeeded in life. People always assume that by going to University our lives are predetermined. In a way, yes – for example getting a degree in Medicine usually means you will practice medicine; but at the same time, not really. So many people find that the jobs they ultimately end up with have nothing to do with the course that they studied. Of course sometimes this can be a huge hurdle to not be able to find a job after Uni, but remember that when a door closes a window opens! Opportunities arise from the most unexpected places! So stay positive, stay optimistic! Be excited about your future! Although I’m a Doctor right now, I’m excited about the possibilities of tomorrow and where my life will take me in 10 years time!
So to sum up, stay inspired!
Always dream, and dream big. Stay curious. Be adventurous. Do not be afraid of what the future may have in store. And explore the possibilities, the endless possibilities of your tomorrow!
To my brother Joseph,
Congratulations. I’m so proud and eagerly anticipate you excel in life. I’m so excited to see what accomplishments you will undertake. You have such amazing potential and I know you will go far. Remember to stay humble and don’t be jaded by the world. Let your determination be your strength, and have faith that the Lord will guide you. I will always support you in everything you do, and all I ask is you not forget me when you’ve “made it”. haha! Love you!

So we are back guys, with another styling inspo for our ever versatile “leather jacket”. Now I do have to apologise, this hasn’t strayed too far from the previous outfit style, with a very similar colour palette, but I just love how a grey shirt looks under a leather jacket. It just looks so effortless. Obviously go ahead and team it with possibly a white sweater underneath instead to break up the look, but I find grey with black add a more “autumnal/winter” vibe.
With this look I tried to give it a bit more of fashion-conscious twist by teaming it the combo with my favourite DIY frayed hem straight-leg jeans, some nude pumps and of course the black bandana (which adds style, and function!). To top everything off, I paired this otherwise pretty casual look with a dressier more structured bag, and I overall enjoy the look I think!

Whilst all of use here in the southern hemisphere are approaching Spring & Summer, I know that a lot of you guys in North America/UK/Europe are actually going into Autumn/Winter (lucky ducks!). Now I don’t want that when you guys read my blog that you feel completely disconnected from the photos, so I’ve actually accumulated several of my A/W2016 looks to publish in the next few weeks.
Initially I just wanted to incorporate them into my blog on a weekly basis, but to make things interesting I thought I would publish it in bi-weekly Inspo every fortnightly… confused? Me too. Basically this week I’ll be uploading two looks on how to style a Autumn/Winter staple – such as this faux leather Jacket! Then next week, I will post a spring look/handbag review/beauty review/etc. Does that make sense?
Now I know it’s a bit all over the place, but hopefully you guys will get the gist. Also I’m going to try and make my posts more scheduled, with posts every Tues & Fridays (+ Sun if I’m feeling extra productive)
So lets talk more about “the leather jacket”
If you guys have seen my birthday wishlist, I’m lusting after the All Saints Balfern Jacket so bad. And in actual fact, I did actually purchase it for myself but ordered the wrong style. Now that jacket costs a pretty penny, but the fit was amazing. If you guys know how much I ended up buying for my birthday, you can understand why I’ve held of re-ordering it, but it’s definitely still up there on my wishlist. A leather jacket (whether real leather or faux leather) is an absolute must in any wardrobe, and there’s nothing that screams AW like a leather jacket! So if you haven’t bought one yet, what are you doing! Get one!
So let’s talk a little bit about this outfit. This is typically a “grab & go” look for me. That is skinny jeans, flats, sweatshirt & leather jacket. Go with a neutral colour palette, add your favourite bag, and you’re out the door. It’s not meant to be fussy, nor is it mean to be super chic. It’s just a casual, easy outfit that anyone can pull off time and time again! Of course it wouldnt be “me” if I didnt have my coloured poufs to go with it which just adds the perfect amount of fun to the look!
