So if you didn’t already know, ASOS is having a SALE! They have 20% off EVERYTHING for 24hrs, and I went absolutely mad! I sadly may have stayed up until 2am purchasing items, and before the sale ended I thought I would share with you guys some of the things I ended up buying! I personally love ASOS. Not only because of the variety of clothing, but the EASE! I hate buying from places where shipping costs just as much as the purchases themselves! I love their free shipping, free returns, and it’s just so easy to shop! I know this sounds sponsored… but it’s not! I wish! Ha.
So before the SALE ends (Which in Australia is TODAY at 5pm AEST)… CHECK THESE ITEMS OUT!
If you guys want more ASOS wishlist ideas, check out my post from last night on some wardrobe staples you need to have! If you enjoyed this let me know and I’ll do more “fashion wishlist” posts! Because let be real, we always have stuff in our cart. We may not buy everything, but this girl loves to online shop!
So we all have days where we look in our wardrobe and think “I’ve got nothing to wear!” Not only that but there’s just not enough time to get dressed let alone think of an amazing outfit. But of course being the stylish you, you still need to look cute and put together. During these times you need a “go-to” outfit. Something you know you look good in, can chuck it on , dress it up and you’re out the door!
This is that outfit. This look is so quintessentially me. Why? Because it’s easy. And I LOVE easy outfits! It’s a “go-to” outfit that I whip out time and time again, just like my “blogger uniform” which you can find here . Whenever I travel I bring this combination, because it’s just so easy to customise and make different every time. I mean at the crux of it, it’s a blazer and jeans combo – so can you really go wrong? It is such a winning combination. If you don’t already have a blazer + jeans look that you makes you feel put together – you need to find one now!
Luckily ASOS is actually having a sale at the moment so I’ll include some of my favourite picks below! (PS – totally not sponsored, but I love ASOS so why not!)
One of the reasons I love this combination outfit so much I just how well it compliments any statement pieces. If you want to put the focus on shoes, keep the neutral colour palette and carry a simple clutch. If you want to take this for a night out, wear some sky high heels and killer earrings!
But today I wanted the focus to be on the bag because lets be honest, ever since I got my Chloe Faye all I think about is how I can wear it! I love how chic and stylish it looks, especially when paired with neutral outfits like in my most recent post. I am so glad I was able to get it in this coloured number because it’s just gives life to any basic look and instantly elevates the whole outfit! With it’s slick design, the pop of colour and it structural silhouette – its just love!
If you don’t have a blazer + jeans combo that you love yet, check out some of these pieces from ASOS and take advantage of the 20% off 24hr sale!
Because I live in Australia where it’s temperate most of the year, to get the most out of this outfit it needs to be light and breathable so I can wear it even on warmer days. I bought this soft blazer from Topshop and it’s just perfection! Of course if you’re from cooler climates you can choose a more structured or even thicker blazer for a more chic/slick look.
Straight leg jeans
Although I love skinny jeans, the straightleg/mum jeans trend has got me hook, line and sinker! I esepcially love the high waisted trend because it complements short frames so well! Sometimes you can go a bit crazy with all the different denim trends right now, but if you want a basic & versatile outfit, it’s best just changing the silhoutte and pick a clean pair of jeans from that line. Avoid too many tassles or rips because that will date the jeans instead of keeping a basic staple.
Meet the bag that nearly got away – the Chloe Faye Medium in Plum Purple!
So if you watched my youtube channel you guys would know the LONG story about how I finally came to acquire this gorgeous bag.
If you haven’t, long story short it was an absolute mission to find this bag in this colour! I’ll try and break it down. Basically I had the opportunity to own this bag early last year in the black or the burgundy. I was nervous about having my first coloured bag so I opted for the black. Unfortunately with all it’s little nuances, and the fact that the black didn’t really captivate me, I returned the item. However I couldn’t stop drooling over it every time I saw it on instagram. Not to mention I always found myself stalking it online!
It wasn’t until I stumbled upon Sinead Crowe’s blog that I saw how amazing this colour truly was. And instantly, I knew I needed to have it! When I finally decided I wanted it, it dawned on me that it was completely sold out everywhere! It was just no where to be found! That is until I remembered Cultstatus – and there it was. The beautiful plum purple colour that I was obsessing over! As I mentioned in the video, although there are clear negatives about this bag including the fact that it’s overplayed and very fussy and at times not very practical, this colour had me SWOONING and now I’m positively obsessed!
I seriously have to thank cultstatus.com.au for helping me finally have this in my collection! They have also kindly given my readers and subscribers a discount code off their website!
So if you are looking to get your own faye, you can get 10% off their entire website using the code “HEYYYJUNEFS”!! This offer ends 31st May 2017so GET ON IT GIRL!
Buckle up ladies and gents, today I’m going to take you through my addictive journey of purchasing pre-owned or pre-loved luxury items. Because if you didnt know already, it’s one of the best ways to save literally HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of dollars on luxury handbags and accessories.
To be honest it’s pretty simple – It was love at first sight. I remember first getting a glimpse of it when a girl was riding down the street with her what looked like a vintage louis vuitton backpack and I almost drove my car off the road because it instantly caught my eye! Never did I think at that moment in time that I would actually ever come to owning it myself!
Fast forward to the day I bought my first Louis Vuitton – which as you guys know was the Louis vuitton speedy 30 in the monogram from the Melbourne Collin St Boutique. It was an absolute dream come true and from that day I was hooked! Lets be honest doing my research on purchasing my first LV I had by that point watching a 1001 videos on Louis Vuitton, and Queen of LV herself Jerusha Couture was a huge influence on me. I was basically obsessed with her videos, and finally I stumbled upon the Louis Vuitton Montouris MM that was in the background of her video. Instantly like before it immediately caught my eye and that started the hunt for this bag!
Of course this bag was discontinued which I did not realise at the time, and the only real choice I had was to actually purchase it second hand! I looked to ebay after so much research and to be honest my first search proved to be quite fruitless. It took about 2-3 months of searching online before I finally stumbled upon this baby. Now mind you I had only just SPLURGED on my brand new LV, so being a junior doctor at the time I was tight on cash. There was no way I could afford anything more than $1000AUD.
When I first saw the item listen on ebay it looked to be in REALLY good condition, and even patina was one of the most crucial things I was looking for. I contacted the seller, and being my first pre-owned LV I was relentless! I requested pictures of the bag with the seller’s name written on the piece of paper next to it, I asked the seller for a million and one detailed pictures, her whole life story on the bag, I then authenticated on the purseforum, and again through a third party. I did not want to make ANY mistakes in possibly purchasing a fake second hand item!
Then the bag arrived.
She was perfect – but still I had it authenticated again once it was in my hot little hands. And finally, when I was satisfied I carried her without end. I remember I was so pedantic about the patina and making sure I wore long sleeves so that I didn’t stain the straps with sweat marks… all the while admiring how beautiful she was. And to this day, it is still one of my most perfect, most wonderful, pre-owned purchases I have made. I think I appreciate it even more now with how much I was able to get the bag for and the condition it’s in considering how backpacks (even pre-owned) have soared in prices since becoming trendy again the most recent years.
Believe it or not guys, I was able to purchase the bag for only $650 AUD! HOW INCREDIBLE IS THAT!
If you can only believe that I have this gorgeous piece of LV history, an amazing vintage piece from 1996 for a fraction of a backpack costs in stores now. Its absolutely incredible. And if you follow me on my blog/instagram/youtube you would know that this isn’t the only incredible find I’ve found! I’ve got a video here which goes through my favourite pre-owned finds, and if you havent checked it out already I STRONGLY urge you do so!
So that is my one huge tip for saving – GO TO THE SECOND HAND MARKET! So many times many of them aren’t even that worn or used, so many times people resell because they’ve changed their minds and you’ve essentially saved hundreds of dollars on a brand new item! I personally love the more older vintage pieces, especially those that you just can not find anymore. So if this has inspired you, I really hope you go and check out my videos on how to purchase preloved (PART 1 & PART 2), and give it a like a share it around.
If you have any amazing stories on your favourite pre-loved/pre-owned piece or a score so good you need to share – please comment in the discussion below I would love to hear!
Please tell you own a leather skirt! It’s such a staple in my wardrobe collection and I’m always on the look out for that one perfect skirt. Being only 152cm it’s always a struggle to find good fitting bottoms, and the leather midi skirt is no exception. I have this one particular pair from ASOS and I absolutely love bringing it out every spring/autumn. Its a little bit to long so believe it or not I have actually rolled it at the top! But it has everything else in a skirt I love – leather, split front, and pencil style.
My favourite way to style this is really casually for that Parisian-chic look. This ensemble of sweatshirt + leather skirt is a classic combination for me and one that I reach for time and time again when I want to wear my leather skirt but don’t know how to style it. If you haven’t tried it yet, DO IT. You may never want to take it off!
You can jazz up the outfits by wearing some bling-bling earrings like I have, and even wear some stiletto pumps & structured blazer to make appropriate for a night out/dinner. Alternatively wear white converse/hoodie to make it even more casual for an errand day. It’s a great base to start building on. What do you guys think?
