Alright, so I didn’t really plan on uploading another post on the cyber monday sale because I had thought that it would literally be the same as the Black Friday sale… butShopbop came through with an additional 35% off SALE items!
Just thought I’d pop in some Cyber monday picks from Shopbop!
So if you’re like me, and you never have you ducks in a row before the sale comes, I am here to give you some shopping ideas! I took the day off today to finally shift through the sales and make some last minute purchases!
Thankfully Australia is ahead of US/UK so by the time you see this purchase hopefully the sale will be continuing on!
So one of the sales I really wanted to jump on before it ended was the amazing 30% off everything sale at mango. I have been itching to geting a lot of their earrings for a while now, and this came at the perfect time! Unfortunately one of the statement pieces that I was really hoping to purchase was out of stock… but none the less here are some of my picks from mango!
A lot of you guys comment the set of necklaces that pretty much do not leave me neck. Unfortunately it’s pretty much custom-made as I bought each piece individually. However after seeing Lucy from FashionMeNow rock the Missona jewellery she collaborated on, I’ve been obsessed with it. Unfortunately it does come at a pretty penny, so to be able to have an amazing 25% off all full price items might just be the excuse I need to finally bit the bullet!
Now I didnt really purchase anything from ASOS this time around, but that’s because I’m still waiting from my order from the last purchase! They recently had 30% off during Click Frenzy in australia, and I was able to score a bit of a better discount. But hey, 20% off everything is still a pretty darn good deal. So want to know what I bought?
So I typically do not shop from boohoo as the quality doesn’t tend to be amazing, but I have to say they’re GREAT for basic tops/slogan tees/graphic tees especially if you dont have to have to spend $30-50 on an otherwise basic top! For 50% off all full price items… how can you go past that amazing deal!
Anyways, that’s it you guys! Hopefully that helped! Let me know what you ended up picking up from the sale!
Just letting you guys know of the Black Friday codes that have just gone live today!! I know in Australia Black Friday is over… but in the US & UK it’s just starting! So make sure to go and check out the following websites and grab yourself a bargain!
So this will come as a surprise to some of you, but I finally got myself the J.W Anderson Pierce bag! I know I have never mentioned it before, but my love for this bag was honestly came out of nowhere. This is such a trend bag for 2017, and although the hype around this bag has died down… I find that my love for it has grown more! I first saw it early this year and I was completely repulsed by it. So you’re probably now wondering what changed my mind?
There – I said it. I’ll be the first to admit that the buying power of instagram and the influence of social media is insane. I didn’t even give it a second look until I saw my favourite bloggers styling it and wearing it… and then all of a sudden I had to have it.
Details of the Pierce Bag
Despite this being well known to be a trendy bag, it had a hook on me, and I kept umming and ahhing about purchasing this from matchesfashion. One of it’s biggest appeals was not only the price point, but I loved how different and versatile it was.
I saw one of the models style the bag as a clutch with their hand through the “pierce” detail, and I absolutely loved it! I loved the 90s style strap, and also the trapezium accordion shape. But above all, I was in love with the mahogany colour it came it. A wonderful alternative to this bag was the jw anderson logo bag, but I just loved the overall look of this more. (However if you are looking for a more classic/timeless style I would strongly recommend the jw anderson logo bag).
What pushed me over the edge was when I was able to purchase this bag secondhand from a private seller on ebay. Whilst this retails for an incredibly fair price on matchesfashion for $1700 AUD (Or $1500+ with this 10% off), I was actually able to pick it up secondhand for just $1000 AUD. How amazing is that!
So with all that been said – is it just a trend bag? Honestly who’s to say. After purchasing a Dior saddle bag (which in it’s days was the trendiest of all trend bag…) I feel like “trendy” is something that is up for interpretation. Everyone dreads having a trendy bag that will show age and become “last season”. But after buying classic bags year after year, bags that everyone has… it’s nice to have something that is more fun, more quirky, and different! The reality is, although these are “trends” as we see them on instagram and blogs, that’s not always the case in real life. Which, let’s be honest is the life that I live in most days.
I think that at the end of the day, bags should bring you joy and excitement. This bag does for me. So who, at the end of the day cares if it becomes last season as long as you still enjoy it? I think the key in being comfortable in buying a trendy bag is the price point. Find it second hand, buy it on sale, find a discount – this will really soften the blow!
Quick tip – Even if you don’t find a discount code for your store, there are a lot of cashback websites you should familiarise yourself with because they often have some cashback rewards which almost work like discounts. Two companies I love to use are ebates and cashrewards.
Styling my latest obssession – Vintage Dior Sadddle bag
If you follow me on my youtube and instagram (basically anywhere else apart from my blog), you probably already know about my sick obssesion with this Vintage Dior saddle bag (or vintage Dior bags in general lets be honest… remember this post here?)
I was able to purchase this amazing piece from a Japanese Consignment seller for an absolute steal, and I couldn’t be happier. We immediately took some photos by a garbage bin (literally) and I actually loved them! So apologies in advance for the picture overload!
You guys already probably know that the hype is REAL with these vintage Dior pieces. Since Dior recently reintroduced the trotter print into their collection, everyone has been eyeing the second hand market for cheap vintage pieces with the trotter print. If you don’t know what this “trotter print” is, it’s basically the Dior monogram.
DIOR SADDLE BAG – YAY OR NAY?
Now despite all the hype you’re probably asking – is it worth it? WELL, that depends. I thought I would by summarising it in a good ‘o pros & cons list. So here we go!
Affordable (depending on your seller!) – Ummm I got this for approx $250 AUD for a designer handbag. Isn’t that crazy? Dior guys! Dior!
Statement piece – you feel almost cooler than everyone with their new dior trotter prints because its “vintage” (that always makes you cooler by default!)
Trendy – it’s back in style! The trotter print is crazy hot right now… and honestly vintage monogram prints in general are super popular!
Durable – Now this does depend on what material you get, but this canvas style is amazingly durable! I’m not worried about it scratching or deforming, and in general stains can be quickly removed.
Looks amazing with everything!
It’s iconic vintage dior!
Expensive (depending on your seller!) – Now I know that I just mentioned that this was cheap/affordable… but since sellers are aware that dior trotter print is back in style, they’re overpricing these pieces! So I have seen them sell for upwards of $1000 AUD (which is crazy!) So definitely look around!
Fussy – I sort of knew that this was a fussy bag because of the shape alone, but I didn’t realise just how fussy! Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not as bad as other bags out there, but the fact that it’s in a weird saddle shape does mean it takes you an extra minute or two to pack the bag.
Doesn’t fit much – I have to admit that for the size I did expect it to fit more than it does. It still fits the essentials, but would have been nice to fit a lot more.
Not super versatile – You guys know I’m the biggest fan of versatility. And the definition of versatility in a bag to me is it’s ability to be able to be worn several ways. Hand carry, shoulder, cross body, etc. Now this bag has a short strap which is amazing for the shoulder, but unfortunately this is not removable so I cant make it quite work for crossbody. Which is a real shame because the mini version of this is PERFECT for cross body!
So after all that do I personally recommend it? YES! BECAUSE I LOVE IT!
I think at the end of the day if a bag makes you excited about wearing it, that what matters. And honestly, I’m totally smitten with this bag. I love how I feel cool wearing it, I feel trendy and “on point”. And it always makes me happy when vintage bags are able to make a come back because who doesn’t love recycling trends and pieces? If you’re one of the lucky few who had a bag-a-holic mother/father – how cool is it rocking a piece that has been passed down?

So if you’re after your own vintage piece, there are two main places I do recommend and have personally shopped for. First is of course ebay (because if I could be the company mascot I so would)… and the second is actually vestiaire collective. Not sponsored by either of them, but I do think they have the best deals available. Make sure you always authenticate your pieces though! And if this is your first time buying a second hand item make sure you check out my buying video guide HERE and HERE.
